Standards & Compliance

Every REICIO product is made to a published safety standard, tested for the model it is sold as, and delivered with documents that your importer, auditor or notified body can verify.

Which standards we manufacture to

The table below shows the European standard each product category is built to. Where a Chinese standard applies to the same product, the equivalent GB standard is used for the domestic market.

Standard What it covers Our product category
EN 361 Full body harnesses for fall arrest Safety Harnesses
EN 354 Lanyards (restraint and positioning) Lanyards, Rope Protectors (as supplied)
EN 355 Energy absorbers Energy Absorbers
EN 358 Work positioning belts and lanyards Safety Harnesses (positioning models)
EN 360 Retractable type fall arresters Fall Arresters
EN 362 Connectors (carabiners, hooks) Carabiners & Connectors
EN 795 Anchor devices Anchors
EN 813 Sit harnesses Safety Harnesses (sit models)
GB 6095-2021 坠落防护 安全带 (Chinese full body harness standard) Safety Harnesses (domestic market)

Not every model is tested to every standard listed above. Always confirm against the test report of the exact model.

How certification works for our products

Our products are CE certified and our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001. Certification is held per model: a harness model is tested to EN 361, an energy absorber to EN 355, and so on, and each tested model has its own test report and report number. We do not claim a standard for a model that has not been tested to it, and we do not describe the whole catalogue as certified because one model has been tested.

Under Regulation (EU) 2016/425, fall protection equipment is Category III personal protective equipment. Category III products placed on the EU market require EU type-examination by a notified body, and the manufacturer must operate a quality system that is monitored. If you are importing into the EU, tell us the destination country at the quotation stage so that we confirm which documents your customs and market surveillance authority will ask for.

How to get the test report for a model

Send the model number to reicio@qq.com. We reply with the report for that model, stating the standard, the laboratory and the report number. If a model has not been tested to the standard you need, we will tell you so rather than send a report for a similar model.

Inspection, care and withdrawal from service

Check the equipment before every use: webbing for cuts, fraying, burns and chemical damage; stitching for pulled or broken thread; hardware for deformation, cracks and correct function; markings and the inspection label for legibility. A competent person then carries out a recorded detailed inspection at the interval set by your national regulation or your own risk assessment, whichever is stricter.

Withdraw the equipment from service after it has arrested a fall, if any inspection finds damage, if the markings are illegible, or when the manufacturer’s maximum service life is reached. Energy absorbers that have deployed must be replaced together with the lanyard they are sewn to. Damaged equipment must not be repaired and returned to service by the user.

Compliance statement

This page describes the standards our products are designed and tested to. It is not a substitute for the test report of the specific model, for the product manual, or for the legislation of the country where the product is used. Where this page and the test report of a model differ, the test report prevails.
